Biblical Archaeology: The Case of William Foxwell Albright
In this session of ISAR Research Center’s Thesis Presentations series, Aslan Bilkay’s thesis titled “Biblical Archaeology: The Case of William Foxwell Albright”. In his thesis presentation, Bilkay will discuss how archaeology is used to verify biblical narratives through William Foxwell Albright’s excavations at Tell el-Fūl/Gibeah of Saul.
Aslan Bilkay graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 2019. He received his master’s degree in History of Religions at Ibn Haldun University in 2024 by defending his thesis titled “Biblical Archaeology: The Case of William Foxwell Albright”. Bilkay, who continues his doctoral studies in the field of Philosophy of Religion at Istanbul University, is also a research assistant at Siirt University Faculty of Theology.
