We will host Prof. Timur Kocaoğlu in the conference series organized within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 3501 project Sociocultural, Historical and Religious Dimensions of Sultantepe Özbekler Tekkesi supported by ISAR Research Center. In this program, Kocaoğlu will make a presentation on the relationship between Bukhara and Özbekler Tekkesi in the first period of the republic around the memories of his father Osman Kocaoğlu.

Prof. Kocaoğlu completed his undergraduate studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Literature Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1971). Then, he received his PhD in History from Columbia University (1982). After working at various universities in Turkey and abroad, he retired while working at Michigan State University. His academic research focuses on the history and culture of Central Asia.
