Literature Talks-2: Qualitative Sociology

In the second session of the Literature Talks series organized by ISAR Research Center, which focuses on the development of literature in various fields today, the field of qualitative sociology is being discussed. In this session, Prof. Nurullah Ardıç will make a presentation on the current discussions and focal points of qualitative sociology.

Prof. Ardıç received his undergraduate degree from the Sociology Department of Boğaziçi University and then completed his master’s degree at the same university. He continued his postgraduate education abroad, earning his master’s (2005) and doctoral (2009) degrees from the Sociology Department of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). As a faculty member in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Istanbul Technical University, Prof. Ardıç’s academic interests include historical sociology, religion and politics in the Middle East, Ottoman-Turkish modernization, social theory, globalization, historical-comparative method, and discourse analysis.
