The fourth session of ISAR Research Center’s Literature Talks series, which focuses on how the literature in various fields has developed today, will focus on the field of sufism. In this session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Murat Özel will make a presentation on the main topics and recent developments in the field of sufism.

Özel graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 1997. He continued his master’s and doctoral studies in the field of Islamic philosophy and sufism studies at Selçuk University and received his master’s degree in 2001 and his doctorate degree in 2012. He taught sufi thought, history and literature at various universities. He is currently a faculty member at Istanbul Medeniyet University, Faculty of Islamic Sciences. His main academic interests include the formation period of sufism and Turkish sufi literature.
