Özbekler Tekkesi from History to Present and Sustainable Sufism
We will host Prof. Dr. Mim Kemâl Öke in the conference series organized within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 3501 project Sociocultural, Historical and Religious Dimensions of Sultantepe Özbekler Tekkesi supported by ISAR Research Center. In this program, Öke will give a lecture on the journey of Sufism in the transition from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic and the role of Özbekler Tekkesi in this transition.
Prof. Dr. Öke completed his undergraduate studies in economics and history at Cambridge University. He received his master’s degree in international relations from the same university and completed his doctoral studies at Istanbul University. Currently a faculty member at Istanbul Ticaret University, Öke’s research interests include international relations as well as Sufism.
