The Liar Paradox in Islamic Thought: A Study Centered on Husayn al-Khānsārī

Within the scope of ISAR Research Center’s Thesis Presentations series, Fahrettin Arı’s thesis titled “The Liar Paradox in Islamic Thought at the Boundaries of Truth and Contradiction: A Study Centered on Husayn al-Khānsārī” will be presented. In his presentation, Arı will elaborate on Husayn al-Hānsārī’s unique approach to the liar paradox from logical and semantic perspectives and explain his original contribution to the previous literature.

Fahrettin Arı graduated from Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, Department of Islamic Sciences in 2020. He completed his master’s degree in Islamic philosophy at the same university in 2023 with his thesis titled “The liar paradox on the borders of truth and contradiction in Islamic thought: A study centered on Âgā Husayn al-Khānsārī’s solution” in 2023. He is currently continuing his doctoral studies in the field of Islamic philosophy at Istanbul Medeniyet University.
