The workshop titled "Earning Muslimly: Al-Kasb Literature in Islamic Economic History - II," organized in collaboration between ISAR and Istanbul Medeniyet University, was held with high participation on May 8-9, 2026, at the Özbekler Tekkesi.
Throughout the workshop, the concept of "kesb" (acquisition/earning), which forms the bedrock of Islamic economic thought, was examined in depth through the works of prominent classical and modern figures such as Haris al-Muhasibi, Ibn Khaldun, Ibn al-Humam, and Ahmed Midhat Efendi. In sessions where the moral and legal dimensions of economic activities were discussed, topics such as labor life, the struggle for capital, and the literary evolution of Islamic economic history were evaluated from an interdisciplinary perspective.
