Soft Law Instruments in Administrative Law

In the 58th session of the Specialized Talks series organized by the İSAR Research Center, we are pleased to host Yusuf Sinan Canatar from the Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Law.

In his presentation, Canatar will analyze the persuasion- and incentive-oriented soft law mechanisms that the administration employs with increasing frequency alongside traditional, rigid, and authoritative acts. Evaluating the reflections of soft law instruments on administrative act theory and the legal order, Canatar will open a discussion on the possibilities and limits of judicial review in modern administrative law, as well as new normative quests, specifically focusing on the legal effects generated by these non-binding acts.
