Summary
Gulshan-i Raz, written by Mahmûd Şebüsterî (1288-1340), is one of the most important works of Sufi literature with many commentaries and translations. Although it is a short text, it deals with almost every issue in its field, and its systematic structure makes it an ideal choice for an introductory level reader. Unlike names such as Mevlânâ, Attâr or Senâî, Şebüsterî conveys the messages he wants to give in his work not in a story, but directly, as if revealing secrets. The purpose of the reading group is to read Gulshan-i Raz from this perspective, and in this respect, Gulshan-i Raz provides a serious background before reading the Masnavi or other similar works.
