History of Islamic Astronomy and Cosmology

This workshop aims to focus on astronomy and cosmology in Islamic history. The workshop will focus on these disciplines contextually and content-wise, with a particular focus on the discipline known asʿīlm al-hayʾah in Islamic history. The workshop will begin with basic readings on the place of these disciplines in the Islamic period, followed by reading and analyzing primary sources. Participants are expected to do the assigned readings and come prepared for the sessions.
