Non-Classical Logics

Summary

This seminar aims to examine the philosophical and technical aspects of non-classical logics that have emerged since the 20th century through a critique of the basic principles of classical logic. First, we will try to understand the emergence of non-classical logics by considering the basic assumptions of classical logic and criticisms against them. Then, we will discuss the basic principles and application areas of modal logic, paraconsistent logic, intuitionistic logic, relational logic and many-valued logic systems. In this way, we will explore the diversity of the contemporary logic scene together with the participants.

The workshop is especially aimed at master’s and doctoral level students.

Knowledge of English is required for participation.
