Summary
The project aims to reveal the various impacts of the journeys (rihla) undertaken by narrators (râvî) in the field of hadith. These rihlas, conducted during a period with limited communication means, are considered to have critical importance, especially in the interaction of different geographies. For this purpose, the rihlas undertaken by the narrators of the Kutub al-Sittah from the mid-2nd/8th century to the end of the 3rd/9th century will be examined. The research focuses on four main topics: the historical course of rihlas, the geographical distribution of rihlas, the impact of rihlas on narration, narrators, and jarh-ta’dil (criticism and accreditation of narrators), and the impact of rihlas on the culture of narration and narrators.
