Printing in the Ottoman Empire and Printing Activities in Özbekler Tekkesi

In the conference series organized within the scope of the TUBITAK 3501 project Sociocultural, Historical and Religious Dimensions of Sultantepe Özbekler Tekkesi supported by ISAR Research Center, Assistant Professor Ayşe Başaran will be our guest. In her presentation, Başaran will convey the printing activities in the Ottoman period to the audience around the focus of Özbekler Tekkesi.

Assistant Professor Başaran completed her undergraduate education in political science at Davidson College. Başaran continued her graduate studies in history and received her MA (2005) and PhD (2019) degrees from Boğaziçi University. Currently working as a faculty member at Marmara University Department of History, Başaran's research interests include late Ottoman printing, book history and book culture.
