Summary
This course, in which Qutb al-Dīn al-Rāzī’s work in which he questions the nature of conception and belief and its commentaries will be read in discussion, has two objectives, one theoretical and one historical. The theoretical goal is to explore the division of knowledge in the classical Islamic logical tradition and the nature of conception and belief, which constitute the parts of this division, in a way that can be included under the title of “ontology of knowledge”. From a historical perspective, the aim is to examine the literature on the same subject after Quṭb al-Dīn al-Rāzī, both in the form of commentaries and original works, and to try to answer the question of why the problem in question might have been given such importance.
